GMLAN - N2k Gateway (CAN-2-CAN Gateway)
Marine Mods GMLAN - N2k Gateway covers all High Speed GM CANbus protocols used on model years 2004 to 2019. Allowing OEM hardware builders the option to run NMEA2000 based MFD's or gauge sets, with just two wires on stand alone engine applications.
Rather than using a traditional OBD2 "request and reply" PID structure to gather gauge data, our code reads raw steaming data from the OEM ECM and TCM just like other GM CANbus hardware. For certain gauge parameters not inherit to a factory dash like IAT or Boost, we use Dynamic PID's to instruct the ECM to include this extra data inside the normal broadcast stream. This equals a much cleaner approach, with no delay or lag on the gauges displayed.
HS GMLAN or GM GLOBAL-A Protocol is fairly common across all GM models. However there are some slight differences in gauge related data packets between ECM hardware and OS versions. For this reason we have tried to split up the firmware configuration options based on ECM models. Please Contact Us with any compatibility questions.

Marine Mods CAN-2-CAN J1939 Gateway converts industrial and heavy equipment CANbus protocol J1939, into NMEA2000 protocol for use with compatible gauges and multi-function displays.

5v ADC to CANbus Gateway (MMI-5V-CANGW)
Building on our race proven CAN-2-CAN gateways, MMI recently developed a 0-5V 12 bit ADC version. This new CANbus gateway connects to, and receives power from the N2k network via our standard male IP67 rated M12 5-pin bulkhead connector. The same NMEA-2000 or Devicenet cabling, just like our other gateway units.
For analog inputs, a male IP67 rated M12 8-pin bulkhead connector tied to a 6 channel ADC chip, along with 5v high and low level reference lines. Allowing this gateway to connect up to 6 analog input channels from standard 5v sensors or potentiometers. It then outputs the converted values on any two wire CANbus network.
On the outside we’ve kept our same IP67 UL rated case. Then we added a board mounted IP67 rated RGB push button momentary switch. This illuminated button allows for easy sensor scaling and calibration. It can also display specific error notifications using colors and flashing patterns.
Easily add important data to your display that current ECM/PCM setups doesn’t cover. No-matter the hardware or CANbus protocol, this ADC Gateway can likely talk to it.
